Number Girl is an absolute indie force.
It’s simultaneously tragic and liberating that some of the most profound experiences in life either require, or engender, a paradigm shift. They aren’t accessible to everyone, just those accidentally on the cusp. It’s my opinion that Number Girl, like Downy, and much underground music, has a similar, if not parallel requirement. To fully appreciate this [very great] album/band, you may need to acquire or bring with you a disillusionment with the pretenses of human conduct, and a willingness to burrow down into hotter, darker, and more membranous strata.

Tabuchi Hisako. Not just cute, but very talented! She has been in Bloodthirsty Butchers, Number Girl, Toddle, all great and important bands!

True, they’re not very accessible. I tried persuading other people (who initially had the same taste as me in terms of music), with no success. Still, NG is a band that shouldn’t be missed (so I’m not going to give up lol). So much about the lyrics, I only know what I can get from translations, but even so, their music is just phenomenal. Especially when comparing their music to what’s in hot rotation now (or maybe I’m just biased ;P).
And yeah, Urban Guitar Sayonara video is epic. Hisako is scary lol.

Keep up the good work of spreading the word, even to unbelievers. Someday they will realize the error of their ways! And yeah, she has got that intimidation expression perfected.
